1. Federal Decriminalization of Cannabis Initiative

Goal: Federally decriminalize cannabis and remove it from the Controlled Substances Act.

  • Policy Objectives:

    • Reschedule or Deschedule Cannabis: Remove cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act or reschedule it to allow for regulated use.

    • Uniform Legalization Standards: Create federal guidelines for the legal sale, possession, and distribution of cannabis while allowing states to regulate specifics.

    • Tax Incentives: Provide tax breaks for cannabis businesses that hire formerly incarcerated individuals.

  • Benefits:

    • Establish a consistent legal framework for nationwide cannabis distribution.

    • Open pathways for formerly convicted persons to enter the cannabis industry legally.

    • Reduce barriers to entry by eliminating federal legal risks.

2. Pot Prisoners Freedom Act

Goal: Release all individuals currently incarcerated for non-violent cannabis-related offenses.

  • Policy Objectives:

    • Comprehensive Clemency Program: Establish a federal clemency program to immediately release individuals incarcerated solely for non-violent cannabis-related offenses.

    • Expedited State Collaboration: Work with states to align their policies to release cannabis prisoners in state facilities.

    • Post-Release Support: Partner with organizations like GEO Group to create transitional programs offering job training and placement in the cannabis industry.

3. Automatic Record Clearance Initiative

    • Immediate Expungement: Automatically clear cannabis-related convictions from criminal records upon sentence completion and fine payment.

    • Restoration of Rights: Fully restore voting, housing, and employment rights upon expungement.

    • Record Clearance Program: Allocate federal funding for states to digitize and process expungement cases more efficiently.

  • Benefits:

    • Removes stigma and legal barriers preventing formerly convicted persons from participating in the cannabis industry.

4. "Restoration First" Initiative
